Thoughts on Thrones – Joffrey Baratheon

Welcome back Night’s Watchmen!

I’m here with another exciting long-form Thoughts on Thrones post for you all!  This time I have prepared a piece on the psychology of Joffrey Baratheon.

I’m going to post a short exerpt from the piece here, and you can find the rest on the Thoughts on Thrones page above!

Joffrey Baratheon, King of the Andals and the first men, first of his name, protector of the seven realms, blah blah blah. Spoiler alert – if you have not read through the end of the written Song of Ice and Fire, turn back now; as this post will contain spoilers of these books, and will spoil a good amount of season four of the HBO A Game of Thrones television program.

#citd Episode 7: soon of a btich!

Welcome back Night’s Watchmen! I’m here with Episode seven of the Cast in the Darkness podcast! Nick joins Clayton and I to discuss what we think the future of the Song of Ice and Fire will become!

We spend a lot of time discussing the future of Dorne and try to focus pretty much on The Winds of Winter, but despite our best efforts, my Internet connection was conspiring against us. My apologies for the audio quality in the second half of the episode!

Listen to Episode seven of the Cast in the Darkness podcast here!

The Cast in the Darkness Podcast – Episode 5: Car Cast Part 1

Oh My Goodness…  You read it correctly Night’s Watchmen; I uploaded the fifth episode of the Cast in the Darkness Podcast this afternoon, and I am pretty sure it is a good one!

Clay and I joined our friends Nick (whom you would know from the Chapter Pack review videos) and Kayne (whom you would not know) on a road trip to Moncton (the “Hub” city for its central location in the maritimes) and I decided that on the way we were going to record a podcast.

This one is a little longer than most of them have been, running about 90 minutes in length… but hey, I started recording when we hit the highway, and didn’t turn the recording device off until we got out of the car at our destination!  Also, please be warned, this one is a little heavy on the Game of Thrones LCG stuff – we are all players of the game, and our road trip was headed to town for a Game of Thrones tournament.  If you aren’t a player of AGOT, then you might not enjoy the second half of this pod as much as the others – but honestly, there is enough chit chat that anyone should be able to enjoy the whole thing!

Either way, I hope you like the podcast, and stay tuned, because we recorded episode six on our way back!  I’ll put that one up next weekend in order to catch up a bit from the holiday hiatus!

Until next time, stick ’em with the pointy end!

Cast in the Darkness Podcast Episode 4 – The Kingsroad!

Please check it out on the Podcasts page! Be sure to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, or point your favourite RSS reader to the feed you can find on that page!

That’s all for now folks, stay tuned for more awesome content forthcoming!

Thoughts on Thrones: Sansa Stark Edition!

Sansa Stark, World-beater or Stockholm survivor?

Let’s get this out of the way right from the start: this post will contain some serious spoilers for books 3-5 and certainly for the television show season three, which hasn’t been released on dvd as of this posting.  If you haven’t read to the end of book five, please turn back now and check out one of our other fantastic posts!  Otherwise, let’s venture into the incredibly intriguing world of Character Profiles!

I solicited topics for Thoughts on Thrones last week, and immediately I got a really fantastic one; Sansa Stark.  She is one of the mos polarizing characters on the show, with fan bases around the world split about how important she is to the kingdom and ultimately to the end game of this never-ending conflict betwen the kingdoms and their Iron Throne.

Thoughts on Thrones 2: #GameofThrones Controversy edition!

Welcome back Night’s Watchmen! This post was supposed to come up yesterday, but as I was stuck at the doctor’s clinic for two hours, it kind of slipped my mind!

I’m back with the second edition of Thoughts on Thrones, this week has been a relatively slow week, so I think I’m going to go back and look at some controversial stories, from the lannister’s keeping it in the family all the way to the Chilean Tragedy of 2013!  Let’s have a look.
