FAQ You Like a Hurricane!

Hello Night’s Watchmen and welcome back to the Cast in the Darkness!

I’m here with the second episode of the podcast this week!  Ordinarily I would have pushed this to the weekend, but since we are putting the Episode reviews up each week there isn’t any convenient place in the schedule for this episode!

Episode 14 is entirely about the recent changes to the Game of Thrones LCG by Fantasy Flight Games.  We discuss a few new errata (one which creates quite a stir with our panel), and the restricted list changes which promise to shake up the metagame like we’ve not yet seen!

Take a listen to this episode of the podcast to get our thoughts on what the FAQ 5.0 changes mean for the game, and what it means for our enjoyment of it.  You can listen to Episode 14 of The Cast in the Darkness HERE!

Hello Night’s Watchmen and welcome back to another (albeit late) episode of the Cast in the Darkness Podcast!

A #GameofThrones LCG Store Championship – Round Four : Targ Burn vs Greyjoy Choke

Hello Night’s Watchmen and welcome back to the Cast in the Darkness!

I’m here with another video from the 2014 Store Championship from Moncton, NB last month.  This one is a win-and-in matchup between Tim and Nick.  Winner stays, loser goes away.

I’ll be back soon with the next video (another win-and-in – this time between Dom and Lufa)!

And I’ll be back even sooner with another episode of The Cast in the Darkness podcast!  What could it be about?

#Gameofthrones LCG: Store Championship 2014 – Round 2, Nick versus Jeff

Hello there Night’s Watchmen and welcome back to the Cast in the Darkness!

I’ve got the second of two Round 2 videos here for everyone to enjoy – this one features Nick with his Targaryen 222 deck facing off against Jeff’s Lannister No Agenda Turbo-Kneel!

You can see this one is pretty back and forth most of the way through this 10 turn slog!

I’ll be back next time with the first video from round three of this series – Baratheon 222 faces off against a Siege of Winterfell deck!

And coming up soon I’ll have the Chapter Pack review for the Spoils of War pack that was released last week.

And finally – Game of Thrones starts tonight!  Kristina and I will be watching it and we will make sure to have our thoughts on the episode up on the podcast server tomorrow night!

That’s all from up here on the Wall.  Until next time remember, the night is dark and full of terrors.

#GameofThrones HCHC Semi Finals! Greyjoy vs Baratheon

Welcome back night’s watchmen!  I’ve got the semi-final match from the HCHC, featuring our hero, yours truly, versus one of the Cast in the Darkness’ own, Nick Robichaud!

Nick piloted a powerful Greyjoy Old Way deck to a 3-1 record in the swiss, finishing 2nd overall before the cut.  My Baratheon Knights of the Hollow Hill deck also got to 3-1, but as my first win was a Bye, I had one ferwer point coming out of the swiss rounds than Nick.

This is our second match in competitive play, after Nick beat me soundly in the 3/4 playoff in November.  Take a look, and see if I am able to get my revenge!

HCHC Round 4 – Win and In, the second!

Welcome back, Night’s Watchmen!

The second Win-and-in matchup has been uploaded to YouTube, and it features Clay against what looks to be an unstoppable opponent in the 3-0 Stefan with his Stark Knights deck!

Feel free to leave a comment here, or on the YouTube channel, and please subscribe to us on YouTube!

You will be able to get decklists for some of the decks that were used at the event soon!

Thanks for watching, and always pay your debts!

What a slow #gameofthrones news week!

Happy weekend Night’s Watchmen!

I’ve been keeping my eyes and ears to the ground looking for any scrap of News of Ice and Fire, but really outside of the announcement that season three of Game of Thrones managed to hit over 14 million viewers the only news has been Time Warner CEO coming out to variety magazine and suggesting that they are particularly proud of the piracy of Game of Thrones online.

Amazon revealed their alternate packaging for the season three bluray packages available in the US, Germany, Italy, France, the UK, and Spain , a three dimensional dragon against an embossed white facade.

I will admit, it looks awesome (even at over a hundred dollars) , but I can’t ever see a way to make it functional in a dvd stand. Pass.

It looks like filming is set to begin in Croatia by the end of the week, with characters being spotted on location, including at least one new actress in costume. This news along with cast sightings in Ireland are thanks to fan blog winteriscoming.

Also in the news is a nearly inevitable split for two of the shows more popular stars, Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie have broken up according to multiple sources. Hand’s up if news of Jon Snow and Ygritte breaking up surprised you. It almost makes you speculate whether Kit and Emilia were clasping hands as friends or if there was something more brewing at the TCA’S a few weeks ago.

This was a bad week for Thrones news capped off by a bad weekend for me personally. I wasn’t able to get the Games of Thrones post done, but I hope to have a good one for you next weekend, it won’t be a weekly segment but I hope to at least make sure it is semi-regular.

With luck, filming will bring with it more news from the set and as the show gets a little closer to season four exciting things will begin happening once more in the Thronesiverse. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open hoping to keep bringing you the best news as quickly as possible!
